Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising & Student Services

The Office of Admissions, Student Services, and Career Management serves prospective and current Brooks School undergraduate students, first-year and transfer. The current undergraduate student body is comprised of approximately 280 residential students.The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising and Student Services will serve as part of a dedicated team of higher education professionals committed to recruiting, admitting, and supporting a diverse undergraduate student population. The Assistant Director will manage the lifecycle of student engagement, including student services, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, student records, registrar functions, academic advising, degree progress, orientation, student support resources, and graduation.Enrollment representatives within Cornell's colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate and partner with the Enrollment Division to accomplish the University's enrollment goals. The Assistant Director will report to the Assistant Dean of Enrollment and Student Services and work collaboratively with the Office of Admissions, Student Services, and Career Management staff.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and two years of student services experience, including academic advising and admissions.Experience administering undergraduate programs.Ability to engage with and support a diverse population of students, staff, faculty, and collaborators.Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting the efforts of an overall team.Strong motivation to make positive contributions toward the success of our students and Brooks and to provide exceptional customer service.Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion; maintain FERPA compliance.Accurate, organized, and well-spoken, with experience that demonstrates sound judgment, creativity, management, diplomacy, problem-solving skills, and resilience.Record of success as a member of a dynamic, fast-paced team.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, databases, student record systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, ImageNow, Salesforce), Itinerary Builder, and Slate.Demonstrated effective and professional communication.Professionalism, tact, excellent judgment, flexibility, and a demonstrated commitment to teamwork.Experience in successfully advising students and demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in a related discipline.Experience with Brooks School curricula and positive working relationships with department/field personnel are highly valued.Working ConditionsEssential Physical Requirements: Typically lifts less than 10 lbs.Visual: Normal concentration.Hazards: Limited exposure.University Job Title:
