Senior Manager Molding Operations

will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of plastic molded parts for the Business Unit. This role serves as both a technical expert and manager within the department. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. The manager will work regularly with R&D, operations, supply chain, quality, and suppliers, and will perform capacity analysis for molds and injection molding machines, making recommendations for future investment.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with R&D in early phase design and recommend solutions for sustainable manufacturing at plastic suppliers, including material selection and mold designs.Work with suppliers to develop robust molding process windows utilizing Scientific/Decoupled Molding methodologies.Develop the relationship between molding key process input variables (KPIVs) and key process output variables (KPOVs) for plastic components.Specify critical molding cell equipment with suppliers.Oversee engineers during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at equipment manufacturers.Ensure reliable supply of parts and perform capacity analysis for molds and presses.Provide technical process support and mentor junior associates.Oversee the writing of specifications and validation protocols.Participate in cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve molding issues.Apply knowledge of SOLIDWORKS CAD design software to develop sophisticated 3D models.Maintain knowledge of Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

RequiredBachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline such as Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.5-10 years of technical work experience in the plastic injection and blow molding industry.Knowledge of mold design fundamentals and molding process development.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in the medical device industry.Knowledge of FDA QSR's and ISO requirements.AIM Institute or equivalent certificate preferred.WHAT WE OFFER
