The Material Buyer is an integral part of the procurement team and will assist in establishing contracts and agreements with vendors to issue purchase orders to get required materials to the job site on time. The Material Buyer will also review and process purchase orders, expedite suppliers to confirm delivery dates and deliveries, support QA/QC; invoice and other related issue resolution. This is a hybrid position.Responsibilities
Assists in issuing Purchase Orders (POs) for acquiring materials.Coordinates with vendors for the procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery.Involved in creating and managing POs, including the necessary approvals.Supports the establishment and maintenance of agreements or contracts with vendors.Tracks and monitors material orders and deliveries using client-specific software.Expedites material orders and maintains expediting documentation explaining if changes occur.Strategically requests information from and communicates with suppliers, as it relates to contractual scopes of work, deliveries of materials, etc.Communicates with Company to ensure only pre-qualified suppliers are considered in the bidding pool for bids and to ensure adherence to Company procurement practices.Supports cross-functional teams with engineering, construction, and all other pertinent stakeholders (including Company stakeholders) to prepare bid materials, contracts, contract management strategies.Engages with appropriate Legal resources as necessary.Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related fields preferred.The Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM/APICS) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and/or The Institute of Supply Chain's (ISM) Certified Professional in Supply Chain (CPSM), or similar certifications preferred.One (1) to Five (5) years of experience in Procurement, utility materials procurement experience preferred.Knowledge of project management principles and practices.Ability to work cross-functionally to support multiple projects / departments and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good Excel skills required.Benefits

Salary range for this position is $60,000 - $120,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.Work Environment/Physical Demands
