What you'll do....
As the Category Strategy & Insights Manager (CSIM) you will co-lead the category vision at Tru Fru in partnership with the Strategic Demand Leader. The CSIM is a category management thought leader and responsible for all data, insights, & storytelling related to MAPS. This role involves extracting data, building reports & dashboards, database management, facilitating custom research projects, and developing presentations for internal & external stakeholders.
As the CSIM you will leverage our broker partners for deliverables and manage insights platforms such as Circana & Numerator. You should be an expert in analytics, storytelling, and offer fact-based recommendations to drive sales objectives.
Lead MAPS Strategy through Data & Insights:
Merchandising:
Analyze customer-specific display and promotional activities to understand efficiency and effectiveness of spend and impact to baseline sales
Assist the sales org in promo planning based on historical data and seasonality
Assortment:
Create national and customer-specific line review decks to grow distribution and gain acceptance on key initiatives
Update SKU Priority List with portfolio changes in collaboration with Brand Marketing and the Strategic Demand Leader
Create a SKU Rationalization tool to assist in identifying market voids and competitive delete recommendations
Pricing:
Track Tru Fru and competitive market pricing
Callout any price comping and hot pricing that may impact the market
Shelving:
Own Perfect Store initiative, aisle flow, and planogram recommendations; driving thought leadership with customers
Work with consultants on CDT and P2P development to share out with the organization
Collaborate with the global category insights team to gain and share insights that shape Tru Fru's shelving principles
Develop national and customer-specific shelving recommendations utilizing our broker partner to create POG visuals in software programs like JDA
Use space-to-sales and fair-share analysis to sell-in additional space at customers
Data, Tools, & Reporting:
Manage Tru Fru databases and custom hierarchies in Nielsen, Circana, SPINS, & Numerator
Create and update tools & reports on a weekly and quad-week basis
Proactively identify key knowledge gaps and develop a suite of tools to strengthen the selling & decision-making process at Tru Fru
Leverage syndicated, panel, and shipment data to update distribution, shelving, promo, new item, & pricing trackers
Internal Strategy:
Translate data into insights and recommendations that assists in the decision-making process
Work cross-functionally to provide market and consumer insights
Share category insights on monthly team calls
The CSIM is a key partner in providing data and insights for:
Annual Planning
Quarterly Business Review
New Item Launches
Ad Hoc Projects
Leadership Presentations
What you'll bring to trü frü
You are...
Able to blend analytics and storytelling to craft compelling presentations
Proactive in nature and have an ability work in a fast-paced environment
Able to travel between 10-15% of the time while in role
You have...
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related area of study
5+ years of CPG experience in category management and/or sales
Experience pulling scan and panel data: Circana, Numerator, etc
Knowledge of planogram software
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
