USAJOBS District of Columbia, United States2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsDutiesThe incumbent serves as a Staff Psychologist assigned to the VHA Central Office (VHACO) CSP Office as a member of the Review and Appeals (R&A) Team. As a member of the R&A Team, the incumbent has the responsibility to demonstrate expert knowledge of CSP and of the documentation used in making clinical PCAFC eligibility decisions for Veterans and caregivers.The Incumbent Performs The Following Major Duties And Responsibilities:Assists the Program Manager in the day-to-day operations of the CSP R&A team as needed.Supports CSP in the tracking, monitoring, development, and submission of review and appeals through the application of regulation, policy, guidelines, and the recommendation of program enhancements.Work independently in researching and interpreting extensive and often complex clinical and administrative documentation that resides in multiple electronic health records (EHR) and databases.Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs as assigned.Serve on committees, work groups, and task forces at the Medical Center/Facility, VISN, and national levels or in the community as deemed appropriate by the supervisor or designee.Conducting review and appeals of PCAFC decision claims requests and preparing draft responses.Applying clinical knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents to assist in appeals.Understanding and applying former PCAFC eligibility criteria as indicated in the review process to determine accuracy of prior PCAFC decisions.Reviewing and tracking claims and determinations throughout the process and to completion.Work Schedule:
