SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

Exelixis Information Technology Department supports business functions in process simplification, automation, and data-driven decision making. IT products will aid in sustaining both organic and inorganic growth of Exelixis, increasing operational complexity of additional product launches, indications, capabilities, and geographies.

This role will be part of the Pharma Supply Chain function within the Information Transformation department. This position acts as internal Subject Matter Expert, Architect, and Delivery Manager with responsibility to develop and maintain architecture blueprints for the Supply Chain department & deliver relevant technology products in collaboration with Business Groups and Other IT functions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a large subset of Procure to Pay lifecycle, Inventory Management, Order to Cash processes, Demand Planning, Product Serialization, and Quality Inspection. He should also have expertise in the SAP platform and integration of the SAP platform with other enterprise systems. A successful candidate will enable effective partnerships and teamwork with business partners, solution delivery managers, project managers, and Managed Service Partners to drive technology standardization, solution harmonization, technology delivery, and operational efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role is expected to perform in agile ways of working with a focus on user-centricity and value/outcomes delivered for business and end users. Key duties and responsibilities of the role are as below:

Partner and collaborate with Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain business leaders to understand business needs to build product roadmap.

Map business needs to technology platform capabilities and ensure best fit technology is well architected and oversee delivery of product roadmap.

Build & maintain architecture repository and integrated system landscape by mapping business processes, capabilities, systems & integrations.

Has relevant experience in designing architecture in a GxP validated SAP ecosystem.

Act as solution architect for technology changes in the SAP Supply Chain ecosystem with adherence to enterprise architecture standards and reference framework.

Ensures Information Security, compliance (Sox, GxP, privacy, etc.), supportability, and reliability for the products with adherence to enterprise guidelines.

Ensure right-fit cross-functional end-to-end design and architecture.

Ensure value-based prioritization and delivery for the product backlog.

Lead and run design workshops to holistically map data flows, integrations, and changes for user personas.

Proactively advises and presents plans to IT and Business leadership to reduce process inefficiencies and improve end-user experience.

Continuously evaluate and evolve existing SAP technology landscape through the lens of cost optimization and technology disruption.

Ensure best practices on architecture and design of business-enabling solutions within Supply Chain & SAP Domain.

Proactively advises and presents plans to IT and Business leadership on ways to continuous improvement to reduce inefficiencies in processes and improve end-user experience.

Manages and reviews work performed by external consultants/providers and ensures high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Govern and manage vendor/partner relationships and performance.

Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within IT Pharma Supply Chain function.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a team of MSP consultants.

Provide guidance and direction to team members.

Review work performed by team members to ensure high quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Plan for training and development of team members.

Supervise, hire, train, provide work direction, and problem-solving assistance for students.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline + twelve years of related experience; or

Master’s degree in related discipline and ten years of related experience; or

PhD degree in related discipline and eight years of related experience; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT Architecture, Technology Consulting, and Delivery in SAP Procure to Pay, Order to Cash domain.

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a GxP validated SAP environment.

Minimum 5 years of experience at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and delivery, applying advanced technologies to large and/or complex business problems.

Minimum 5 years of experience working as Solution Architect with SAP technology & functional expertise.

Minimum 5 years of experience in managing teams spread across multi-geo locations.

Experience working on various SAP Supply Chain modules like Logistics, Inventory Management, Quality Management, Production Planning, Materials Management, Sales, and Distribution.

Hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, SAP CPI, SAP Fiori.

Ability to translate business capabilities/process flow into a technology blueprint.

Experience in GxP and SOX Compliance is desired.

Knowledge/Skills:

Deep understanding of business & technology architecture with SAP platform.

Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies and Product-based delivery.

Demonstrated ability in delivery of large-scale, complex programs involving system and process reengineering and integration.

Ability to collaborate with senior functional leaders to influence technology strategy.

Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and business communication skills.

Very strong communication and inter-personal skills to drive collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $172,000 - $245,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers a comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
