The Director of Community Engagement (DCE) will manage the Community Engagement Team and is responsible for driving membership growth strategy and implementation across the council. This role will manage, train, coach, and support the Community Engagement Specialists as they build strong local community networks with current Girl Scouts, Girl Scout Volunteers, schools, community centers, and other local community organizations. This position is also responsible for ensuring productive and effective alignment and collaboration with teams across the organization including Volunteer Engagement, Member Services, Girl Experience, Marketing/Communication, Data and Analysis, Fund Development and others. The experienced DCE will be a motivated leader who has the success of the communities they serve at the forefront of their vision.

The DCE is, ideally, a seasoned manager with experience building and managing a team of staff and volunteers. An ideal candidate can use data to create an annual strategy to retain and increase members and volunteers, increase the number of partner schools leveraging Girl Scout programming, and ensure troops are able to create strong experiences for girls involved. Additionally, a strong DCE can communicate clearly and is able to compel a variety of audiences to engage in the Girl Scout organization.

Qualifications - Essential:

10-15+ years of management experience in a member organization, non-profit, or in specific a GS council.

Superior problem-solving skills and ability to lead collaborative teams.

Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical team members and work well with team.

Ability to work cross-functionally.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidential information.

Strong aptitude for using database systems (Salesforce, Looker and Personify).

Valid driver’s license, car, and proof of current insurance.

Computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advance knowledge such as experience working with databases.

Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.

Education – Bachelor’s Degree.
