$90,000 to $100,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience + Bonus Potential + Exceptional Benefits
Terrific Major Gifts Officer position with a highly regarded national nonprofit. The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will be an integral member of the fundraising team and will steward a portfolio of donors and prospects located in the Washington D.C. area and surrounding states. The MGO will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individuals that are capable of giving major gifts of $25k+. Candidates should be comfortable reaching out to donors and managing the full fundraising lifecycle independently. Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in fundraising or sales and should be comfortable with travel. The role operates on a hybrid schedule and is based in the Washington D.C. area.

Responsibilities:
Grow a portfolio that consists of current and prospective major gift donors
Ensure a properly balanced portfolio that can facilitate effective moves management
Track donor and develop communications in Salesforce; ensure relationship based fundraising strategies are used
Create cultivation strategies
Move potential donors towards closure in a timely manner
Identify prospective donors using research and existing networks
Provide projections and forecasting for fundraising portfolio
Travel as needed to meet with prospects and donors
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or more extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
3+ years of relevant fundraising experience
Track record of successfully closing gifts independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Experience with Salesforce or a similar database
Ability to work independently
Ability to travel as needed
