FY25 - Instructor Special Assignment, Construction Program Coordinator SFPLOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICTPROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIESLos Angeles Southwest CollegeEMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTFY25 - Instructor Special Assignment, Construction Program Coordinator SFP LimitedLimited, 0.35 FTE - 10 Hours/week, SFP (D basis)2 positionsDEADLINE DATE TO FILE: October 2, 2024Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) seeks 2 qualified candidates for the Instructor Special Assignment (ISA) position to coordinate and support the Noncredit Construction-Programs.Position Description:The Noncredit Construction-programs are designed to prepare students with the necessary skills for entry into construction-related apprenticeship programs and entry-level construction positions in the public and private sector. The selected candidates will report directly to the Dean of Adult and Continuing Education. The selected candidates will support the construction-programs by assisting with outreach activities, communicating with partners and staff, and overseeing the ordering of materials, maintaining equipment and inventory. This is a specially funded non-tenured position and may be renewed annually depending upon the continuation of funding.Salary and Benefits:The current starting range for .35 FTE is from

$30,610

to

$72,142

.Duties and Responsibilities:Participate in outreach and program recruiting activities.Assist with student information sessions and orientations.Attend meetings with community partners and college staff.Maintain basic hand and power tool equipment.Schedule maintenance on machinery.Order materials and coordinate delivery.Develop and maintain inventory.Complete facilities work orders.Perform related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:A degree from an accredited college or university that allows the individual to teach any discipline offered at LASC. Professional or occupational experience must be directly related to the instructional assignment.Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION:Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.Desirable Qualifications:MC3 (Multi-Craft Core Curriculum) certified.Bachelor's degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.Associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter.A strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and dependability.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to produce reports and other necessary documents.Possess personal characteristics necessary for working with students, partners, and staff including: stability, good judgment, tact, and the ability to cooperate with coworkers.Application Procedure:Applicants will be required to file the application using web-based software to create an applicant profile account, allowing documents to be saved and uploaded as attachments.
