Our client is a family owned and operated general contractor who has been around for over 50 years. They are seeking an
excavation estimator
for their commercial and light industrial construction projects in the Chicago area. Our client works on projects ranging from $10K to $5M and projects are typically sized between .5 to 5 acres. All projects are local to the Chicagoland area. They excavate for building foundations, strip sites, cut/full to desired grade, cut for curbs, install/remove underground storage tanks, remove asphalt, remove concrete, place stone under concrete and place black dirt in planters.
Job Description
Analyze blueprints and bid specificationsPrepare takeoffs, quantities (roctek software)Determine material, equipment, and labor needed for bidAttend preconstruction meetingsPrepare proposals and contractsFollow up with Client on submitted proposalsAssist superintendents and monitor job progressJob site visits and meetingsprepare and submit change ordersCompile and submit invoicesBuild and maintain long-term relationships with existing new clientsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. 3+ years of excavation estimating experienceExperienced in reed Civil, structural and architectural plansproficient in Microsoft Outlook and ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDeadline and detail-orientedDemonstrate leadership skillsExcellent problem solving skillsStrong work ethics and willingness to work as a team playerWhat's on Offer
