Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales use tax returns for all states in which Celanese has nexus.
Process tax payments to appropriate tax agencies
Perform monthly review of & validation of taxability of high value items
Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual on-time reconciliation of sales/use tax accrual accounts
Work with plant personnel and subject matter experts to identify opportunities to claim refunds
Assist AR, AP and other business units in resolving sales & use tax related issues, including OneSource and other tax engine issues
Maintain tax calendars, records, and files
Obtain, review and maintain customer exemption and resale certificates
Prepare month-end correcting journal entries
Prepare and review annual unclaimed property filings
Assist with managing state and local sales & use tax audits
Lead special projects as needed
QualificationsEducation/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related
5-6 years of US multi-state, sales tax compliance experience, preferably in manufacturing
Canadian Indirect tax compliance a plus
Working knowledge of ERP systems a plus – SAP, BCS preferred
Tax engine experience(OneSource a plus)
Blackline solution experience a plus

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different level of employees
