Cafe Natalie Catering is an upscale, fine catering company, looking to expand by launching a new Floral Division aimed at providing exceptional floral arrangements and services for weddings, corporate events, galas, and private celebrations. We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to help us build and grow this new venture from the ground up!
Position Overview:
The Vice President of Floral Division will be responsible for developing and launching a new floral business within our company. This role will oversee all aspects of the floral division's operations, from concept development, sourcing, and production to sales, marketing, and financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in floral design, business development, and team leadership, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing a floral business or division.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the new floral division, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and financial projections.
Identify key growth opportunities, partnerships, and market trends to position the division for success.
Set clear goals and objectives for the division, ensuring alignment with the overall company strategy.
Operations Management:
Establish operational procedures and workflows for sourcing, production, quality control, and delivery of floral arrangements.
Oversee inventory management, including sourcing high-quality flowers, faux florals, plants, and supplies from reliable vendors.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
Team Building & Leadership:
Recruit, train, and lead a team of talented floral designers, production staff, and sales representatives.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and excellence in floral design.
Provide ongoing mentorship, performance management, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Sales & Marketing:
Develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy to attract and retain clients, including event planners, corporate clients, and private customers.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling branding, promotional materials, and online content to showcase the division’s offerings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry influencers to drive business growth.
Financial Management:
Oversee the division's budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance, ensuring profitability and cost-efficiency.
Monitor key financial metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and clients to maximize profitability and minimize risk.
Product Development:
Innovate and curate a diverse range of floral products and services, from everyday arrangements to bespoke event installations.
Stay ahead of industry trends, introducing new floral designs, techniques, and offerings to meet evolving customer needs.
Collaborate with other divisions (e.g., catering, event production) to create integrated service packages.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Floral Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in the floral industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling a floral business or division.
Strong knowledge of floral design principles, flower varieties, and industry trends.
Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning, financial management, and sales.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
