The RoleReporting to Kasco's President & CEO, the Director of Human Resources (HR) has global responsibility for developing and executing HR strategies and operations to support and accelerate the organization's overall strategic business plan, specifically in the areas of talent and succession planning, organization design, performance management, development and training, compensation/benefits, diversity and inclusion, and environmental, health and safety (EH&S). This business and commercially minded leader will focus on building relationships at all levels to maintain an exceptional culture and employee experience, serving as a key advisor to the president and senior management team.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute effective HR strategies.

Deliver operational excellence in the process and services from HR to all areas of the organization.

Drive employee engagement and champion diversity and inclusion.

Coordinate HR-related initiatives with our global sites in the U.S., Mexico (Maquiladora), U.K., and Germany.

Partner with business leaders to effect organizational design and development that supports short and long-term business needs and goals.

Inspire a culture where safety is employee driven and implement best practices to help EH&S meet all laws, regulations, and community expectations.

Champion employee wellbeing through the Steel Partners Wellness Council.

Develop and execute talent plans with a focus on inclusion and diversity, including talent assessment, selection, deployment, capability development, and cultural adoption.

Partner with the leaders on employee engagement to drive retention and loyalty, increase productivity and improve customer satisfaction by providing tools and processes for leader enablement.

Identify and address opportunities for greater efficiency, agility, and standardization consistent with company goals for continuous improvement through Lean methodology and deployment.

Act as an organizational coach who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity, and partners with clients to maximize team performance.

Provide thought leadership and insights into HR/EHS trends, ensuring the team utilizes best practices to drive success, utilizing safety and workforce analytics/trends to measure progress and implement countermeasures to address performance gaps.

Inspire and lead with a sense of urgency, proactively solving problems and embodying a commitment to high-performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in human resources, organization development or business administration or related area is required; master's degree preferred.

Eight+ years of progressive HR experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically Mexico (Maquiladora) is preferred but not required.

Experience working with US, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific field service operations/sales is preferred but not required.

HR/EHS leadership/support as Human Resources Business Partner. Demonstrated success required with organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, talent management, and culture and change management.

Demonstrated understanding and curiosity for the front end of the business and ability to support commercial strategies with strong safety and people programs.

Evident ease and familiarity in effectively interacting with hourly workers as a corporate leader.

Demonstrated success and resiliency operating in an industry and/or organization facing rapid change.

Initiates and engages with senior business leaders as a peer, confidante, and coach.

Develops trust and credibility that leads to improved organizational effectiveness.

Adds significant value beyond his/her own functional area.

Highly motivated, energetic, personable and comfortable working closely with a diverse and global leadership team.

Highly self-aware listener who possesses emotional intelligence.

Thorough and detail oriented; ability to handle a wide range of issues varying in complexity.

Unquestioned ethics, integrity, intellectual honesty and sound judgment.

Periodic travel required once per quarter.
