As a
Global Commodity Manager,
you will lead a commodity team that is globally positioned and center-led through direct and matrix responsibilities. Job family exists to manage supplier activities, negotiations, contract management, pricing agreements, and supplier performance management while creating high-impact commodity-specific strategies. Creates commodity-specific strategies to enable value-based supplier discussions while encompassing the entirety of our supply base.
How You'll Make An Impact:
Leads the Blood / Biological / Chemical Category with annual transactional purchases of >$75M. Commodity Coverage of 15-20. Supplier Coverage of 75-200.
Develops a Comprehensive Global Business Plan with goals for each region and plant.
Manages procurement functions covering at least seven activities such as global commodity strategy development, global supplier management, supplier performance monitoring, Supplier AVL development, global supplier compliance tracking, supplier business continuity, and contract spend management.
Commodities are identified globally as part of the Global Team. Supplier Management is responsible for less than 10 plants.
Minimal supervision required.
Capable of receiving high-level guidance and direction through high-level plans or communication and condensing to goals and objectives. Capable of managing a global commodity team, disparate resources, and matrix teams and global/regional project teams.
Able to interact within all levels of Bio-Rad Management and suppliers' levels of management. Capable of giving teams directions and suppliers clear strategic direction.
Manages a family of global commodities and is leading these for the entirety of Bio-Rad.
Develops strategic business plans for all regions and every plant with specific procurement targets and goals for financial measures like price, PPV, delivery LT, and inventory targets.
Responsible and accountable for the supplier management process as it relates to the Blood / Biological / Chemical commodities within the family.
Serves as the Global Bio-Rad expert working to determine Make/Buy determinations for all suppliers.
Develops the Global AVL for Bio-Rad pertaining to the commodity.
Lead global teams in all Regions by developing dynamic commodity strategies and sourcing recommendations for specified commodity, considering plant, quality, and business requirements.
Supervise, monitor, and coach employees in different locations and build effective global teams.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
MBA or Master's in Finance/Science/Eng preferred.
10+ years’ experience in purchasing/commodity goods management, production management or R & D management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Solid knowledge of LEAN, GMP manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and other quality tools. APICS, ISM or Project Management, Quality, LEAN, or other certification preferred.
Global experience required.
Experience in a regulated environment preferred.
Experience with/knowledge of quality systems, materials management, production, purchasing, distribution, cost reduction, project management, engineering EH&S, new production introduction, product transfer management, production scale up, and/or planning helpful.
Negotiation skills required and certification a plus.
Cross-functional team leadership and high performing work team skills.
Solid knowledge of financial principles related to budgeting, setting standards, and variances and gross margin management to drive sound manufacturing decisions.
Experience in setting up production data in ERP systems and strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Demonstrated effective communication skills. Fluency in multiple languages preferred.

Compensation:
The estimated base salary range for this position is $149,000 - $204,800 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations within the United States. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
