The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overall daily direction of the warehouse which includes materials movement, handling, receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, cleaning, and maintaining stock in warehouses and cold storage areas. Executes production schedule with other departments including the restaurant. Aligns logistics/receiving schedules with material demands to support production department.

A Warehouse manager's primary duties and responsibilities include the following:

Maintains and supports a clean and safe environment for the warehouse and associates.

Trains, motivates, coaches, disciplines, and develops associates in the warehouse department.

Recommends continuous improvement processes in collaboration with the management team.

Fills freight and parcel order fulfillment.

Ensures accuracy and quality of inbound and outbound orders, to include documentation for finished product, packaging, and raw material lot traceability through physical inspection of received goods.

Controls logistics by acting as contact for vendors, suppliers, external warehouses, and freight and logistics companies.

Maintains accurate inventory records through cycle counts, daily activity reports, and end-of-period inventory counts; assists accounting department in reconciling inventory variances.

Ensures all movement of raw goods, packaging materials, and finished products into and out of the facility, and among different departments, is adequately documented.

Works closely with sales and production departments to determine sales/production forecasts, inventory par levels, and immediate and future needs.

Orders all raw goods and packaging materials from suppliers and maintains appropriate par levels in both internal and external storage facilities.

Directs the receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of all inventory items.

Develops, implements, and maintains 5S procedures in warehouses and cold storage areas.

Maintains inventory control database through timely and accurate data entry for all transactions.

Directs reclamation of damaged/returned merchandise.

Thorough knowledge of all products manufactured in the plant, daily/weekly/monthly production schedule, and plant capabilities.

Maintains an effective warehouse layout, location master, item locating rules, location capacities, and evaluates SKU utilization.

Continuously audits product, raw goods, and packaging inventories to maintain product safety, quality, and FDA/SQF audit-ready warehousing standards.

Interfaces and builds positive rapport with sales teams, suppliers, and customers. Assists in positive customer resolution of issues and complaints. Confers with department heads and other internal customers to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions, i.e., transportation, production, inventory control, maintenance, sales, etc.

Keeps inventory records and documents current, accurate, and well organized.

Maintains familiarity and ensures compliance with company policies, regulations, best practices, and conditions for certification, including but not limited to current SQF code, as they relate to the warehouse department.

Must have requirements:

Proven and demonstrated working computer/technical knowledge.

Ability to learn internal processes including but not limited to: MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Access), electronic filing, and company ERP software.

Previous inventory management systems experience i.e. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Business central etc.

5+ years’ working experience in warehouse management, manufacturing, and/or retail receiving environment. Food manufacturing experience is a plus. 2+ years applicable working experience if applicant has a degree.

Analyze data, write reports, and use critical thinking skills to solve problems quickly and provide solutions.

Understands SQF, food safety, food quality, allergen management practices.

Responsible for acting when notified or becomes aware of any food safety or quality issue while shipping, receiving, staging, or storing packaging materials, raw ingredients, and finished goods.

Excellent understanding of inventory control and management procedures.

Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts, and shipping requirements.

Ability and willingness to manage the department and consistently perform at a high level with minimal oversight.

Lead by example with calm demeanor, sense of urgency, and consistent professionalism.
