Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production.
Responsibilities:
Conduct precise mechanical inspections at client-supplier sites.Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials. This may include purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings.Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required.Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements.Communicate with internal customers and suppliers as required to resolve inspection discrepancies.Perform surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required.Use an electronic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and components to proper departments.Qualifications:
4+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined parts.Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.).GD&T experience is required.CMM experience (but not necessarily CMM programming experience).CMM programming experience is a plus.Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances ≥/.005” with minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.Must be willing to undergo a background check.
$30 - $32 an hour
Hourly rate while on site or working remotely (i.e., completing or modifying reports).
Minimum 4 hours per day if deployed (i.e., "4 hour minimum").
50% hourly rate for any travel time (i.e., "p2p").
Mileage reimbursement at US gov't rate ($ 0.655
