Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for collecting samples and inspecting glassware for compliance with internal controls and customer requirements. Additionally, the Quality Inspector must appropriately react and communicate any non-conformity, problems, or defects.Responsibilities:Read and check a line order and job card for product conformity to customer specifications.Perform visual and other quality control inspections and record results using specialized equipment and gauges: lehr checks, feeder streak and annealing checks, visual inspection of packed ware, glass wall thickness (GWT), off ware checks, seed counts, gauge set-ups, lab checks, stopper insertion tests, use of optical comparator and thermo shock testing.Challenge the inspection equipment and record the results accurately and timely.Collect PDS/TG samples.Take appropriate action when non-conformities are found to isolate non-conformity and cull the non-conforming material according to established standards.Maintain general housekeeping and 5S.Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.Ability to understand, read, speak and write in English.Pass defect test and job-related testing with a 90% or higher.Demonstrate ability to detect and classify defects in glassware.Perform basic arithmetical calculations.Read and understand gauges, instruments, and operate various gauges and measuring devices.Demonstrate strong communication and organizing skills including the use of a computer to retrieve or record information.Ability to work rotating shifts when needed (24-7-365).Follow departmental and plant S.O.P.’s.Maintain general housekeeping and 5S.Additional Information
