About the Team:McCloskey by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, provides news, price reporting, data, and research across the Coal, Metals & Mining industries. OPIS enables customers to enact important decisions with confidence with multi-platform access to accurate data, real-time news, and detailed forecasts.

About the Role:Fundamentals analyst covering global metallurgical coal and coke markets.

You Will:

Maintain and continually refine monthly supply and demand balance sheets and price forecasts for metallurgical coal and related products.

Maintain and/or contribute to monthly and weekly metallurgical coal deliverables, as well as leading bespoke consulting engagements.

Be a thought leader in metallurgical coal markets, and an APAC leader in steel and steel raw materials more broadly, doing everything from conference presentations to client presentations and fielding customer queries.

You Have:

At least 10 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.

Strong quantitative skills (strong MS Excel and VBA, knowledge of Python and PowerBI advantageous).

Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to a high standard.

Ability to lead others.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone.

Bachelor’s degree (in a quantitative discipline preferred).
