Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Regional Vice President is responsible for the overall direction of the region ensuring exceptional customer support, efficient operations, and effective management. This role involves leading and executing the region's strategies, driving revenue growth, enhancing customer experience, and solidifying the company's market position within the heavy equipment distribution industry. The ideal candidate will align departmental activities with the company's broader objectives, fostering sustainable growth and operational efficiency while maintaining and building strong customer relationships. The role also involves close collaboration with management to ensure adherence to company policies and the achievement of profitability goals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Regional Responsibility:
Uphold and enhance the companys image and reputation
Participate in local events and industry-related activities to support shared causes and promote the companys interests
Oversee and maintain regional branch facilities, including identifying and involvement on facility opportunities for expansion
Manage OEM and vendor relationships to strengthen partnerships, secure favorable terms, and obtain competitive pricing
Interface with manufacturer district representatives to enhance sales efforts
Recommend the acquisition of additional equipment lines or modifications to existing lines
Analyze standard operation procedures, pricing, and competitive actions to support strategic initiatives
Notify company President of any major threats to the regions capital and earnings including financial uncertainties, existing or potential legal liabilities, technology issues, customer concerns, strategic management errors, accidents, and natural disasters
Leadership and Collaboration:
Collaborate with senior management to ensure regional strategies align with overall business objectives
Provide leadership that fosters professional development, teamwork, accountability, and effective communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry associations
Business Development:
Identify and develop strategic partnerships and opportunities to expand market reach, grow the companys book of business, and enhance customer loyalty
Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to capitalize on growth opportunities
Champion the use of the CRM systems o Initiate necessary actions to ensure proper training and support are provided for the region
Oversee regional inventory management to ensure optimal equipment and parts availability, achieve favorable turn rates, maximize utilization, ensure timely repairs, and minimize customer downtime
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage the regional budget, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective operations
Review financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights to senior management
Sales, Used & Rental Department
Manage sales and rental activities in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager
Monitor sales performance through call reporting programs o Advise and collaborate closely with the VP of Sales on inventory requirements, OEM communications, market opportunities, and concerns
Establish regional annual objectives, including individual sales goals
Evaluate the performance of each salesperson to ensure goals are met and optimal sales coverage is maintained
Ensure the Sales Department implements sales plan, programs and comprehensive sales strategies to expand the customer base and capture significant market share
Advise and support the Used Equipment Manager to ensure all trade-in equipment is accurately valued, inspected, and repaired in a timely manner
Product Support Departments
Manage product support activities in collaboration with the Regional Product Support Manager o Monitor Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSR) sales performance through call reporting programs
Advise and collaborate closely with the Regional Product Support Manager to ensure alignment, standardization, productivity across the region, market opportunities, and concerns
Establish regional annual objectives, including individual sales goals for the PSSR
Evaluate the performance of Product Support Reps to ensure goals are met and optimal sales coverage is maintained
Ensure the product support team delivers superior customer service at all touchpoints, setting high service standards, monitoring customer feedback, and implementing improvements
Streamline and optimize service operations, including equipment maintenance, repair, and warranty services, to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards to maintain a safe and secure working environment
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of industry sales experience
Strong leadership skills with effective delegation and follow-up abilities
Excellent relationship-building skills Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, and other relevant software programs
Ability to travel as is required to perform your duties and responsibilities
