Do you want to play a critical role in the delivery of Drax’s Strategic Objective – developing BECCS?As the Senior Project Controls Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the project controls co-ordination of engineering design, delivery, and execution of large scale, complex projects from Pre-FEED study development through to the commissioning of the facility for Carbon Removals.Additionally, as the Senior Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for managing & leading the project controls team for Carbon Removals. This may include project controls personnel from the owner’s engineer as well as other external contractors and vendors. Projects can include both greenfield and brownfield scope and may be in excess of $250MM in value.About the role

Within this role, your accountabilities shall be, but not limited to:Identify, develop, and deploy all project control procedures and develop, deploy, and maintain the Carbon Removals DOA procedure.Provide regular project updates for the current project phase by collaborating with Carbon Removals project team, owner engineer team, and other external parties as required.Develop Project Plans in co-ordination with project leads (and external contractors as applicable) for the life cycle of the project, identifying risks and opportunities where applicable.Create the overall framework for project estimate development, control budget development, and project control by project phase via deployment of standardized WBS, CBS, etc. structures.Coordinate the overall development of the TIC cost estimate, develop the owners cost estimate, and develop the resulting control budgets for each project stage.Deploy effective overall project control protocol for the project including contractors and vendors by developing project control contract and purchase order exhibits.Provide expertise during negotiation of Engineering, Vendor supply equipment & construction contracts via development of fit-for-purpose project control exhibits.Develop, implement, and continuously improve project execution protocols and tools for cost and schedule control.About you

You’ll hold a degree level education or technical certificate (Project Management, Commercial, Construction or other relevant discipline).You’ll demonstrate your extensive, relevant experience within Engineering/Construction industry ideally leading project controls teams in the EPC or major engineering design/installation projects.Essential to this role is your proven track record of leading and managing large complex projects control programs and demonstrable experience of accountability for a complex, multi contract, multi discipline project(s) in a lead EPC role or owner role.You’ll be an excellent communicator – highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels across the organisation.With your experience, you’ll have the ability to meet challenging targets and with a flexible approach to working patterns to ensure targets/deadlines are achieved.Leadership will be key!
