You'll build meaningful and strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive procurement excellence at every stage of the process.

Reporting directly to the VP Procurement North America, you’ll be part of the successful delivery of the overall procurement strategy for Drax but especially focussed on Capital equipment and/or projects. You will support the ongoing transformation of Procurement at Drax, adding value to high value, important capital projects through the implementation of best in class strategic sourcing and negotiation strategies.This role presents a great opportunity work closely with Drax senior leaders and ExCom (C-Suite) and to manage important supplier relationships.You’ll play a key role in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise value whilst ensuring the right level of governance is applied. You’ll also provide day to day procurement guidance and advice to other team members.Building new relationships and working with a wide range of internal customers will be the key to success in this role. You’ll work closely with the wider procurement team, to ensure continuous improvement and best practice is shared throughout the team to optimize performance.

About youYou’ll already have strong technical procurement skills linked with an ability to drive best practice. Ideally you’ll also have experience in creating and executing a successful category strategy for Capex spend in a complex, global, multisite organisation.You’ll also demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, and the ability to implement opportunities for innovation. You’ll be comfortable proactively challenging stakeholders (even the senior ones), while providing a prompt, efficient and personalised service to internal customers at all levels. This is imperative, to ensure that customer needs are met, and productive relationships are built and maintained. You should also be effective in ensuring departmental policies and processes are communicated and followed.

It is key that you’re a self-starter with a ‘can do/will do’ attitude who has the energy, drive and commitment to make things happen and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies to form alignment. The ability to identify key opportunities for Procurement support and prioritise workload effectively is essential.Ability to drive change into traditional stakeholder relationships and gather business support for new ways of working that create value for Drax.You may be qualified in Engineering or have experience in Capital Projects delivery but now work in the commercial procurement area.Ideally you’ll have a bachelor’s degree with extensive recent capital project experience, however if you have demonstrable experience and strong performance in a similar role, we'd still love to hear from you!Rewards and benefits:As you help us to shape the future, we’ve shaped our rewards and benefits to help you thrive and support your lifestyle.
