here .Job SummaryThe Development Associate is responsible for ensuring excellent development operations support and high-quality project management to grow fundraising success at Neighborhood House. This position reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the entire Development team to increase supporter engagement and funds raised to support our mission. The Development Team is actively engaged in growing community understanding of Neighborhood House and in facilitating a culture of philanthropy within the agency. The Development Associate will be the lead team member responsible for gift processing and donor acknowledgement.At Neighborhood House, we aspire to live our values: community, equity, integrity, relationships, and sustainability. If you have personal lived experiences that are similar to experiences of the community members Neighborhood House serves (BIPOC, immigrant/refugee, multilingual/multicultural families, housing instability, poverty, etc.), we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesDevelopment Operations and Project Management (60%)Lead gift processing, ensuring timely and accurate gift entry. Collaborate with Finance Team to ensure accurate coding and reconciliation.Coordinate gift acknowledgment process, ensuring timely completion and/or assignment of thank you notes, donor calls, tax receipts, and tribute notifications.In collaboration with the Development Director, manage team projects, including annual fund campaign appeals, coordinating with external vendors (printer, mail house, etc), developing mailing and e-mailing lists, merging print letters.Maintain and update Neighborhood House’s donor database (Raiser’s Edge) on an ongoing basis to ensure its accuracy and to support database hygiene.Support Data Analyst in creation of monthly reports on donor engagement and gifts.Participate in development of the annual fundraising plan.Collaborate with and support Development Team staff in nurturing donor relationships throughout the donor cycle, including assistance with researching, building, and maintaining donor and prospect lists and files.Seasonal Event Management (25%)Support fundraising events, including one large fundraising event and 2-3 other smaller events each year.Event project management.Collaborating with Development team members on event promotion and attendee recruitment.Updating and maintaining registrations in the donor database.Helping to create mailing lists and event collateral.Collaborating with Development team to manage event day-of tasks.Coordinating with event vendors (event venue, catering, etc.).Support post-event analysis and reflection to optimize subsequent event planning.Communications (15%)Support Communications Specialist in the development of donor communications (e.g. new donor welcome series, donor thank you letters, etc.).Support Communications Specialist in development of digital and print content and design.Collaborate and connect with staff across the agency to gain a deeper understanding of our communities and impact.Provide excellent customer service by fielding inquiries and directing donors and other constituents to the appropriate team members.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications1-3 years of experience in an Administrative, Fundraising, Nonprofit or similar role, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.Neighborhood House is on a journey to become a fully inclusive, multicultural, anti-racist organization. Candidate must demonstrate commitment to advancing racial equity and social justice and an ability to thrive in a culturally/ethnically/racially diverse workplace dedicated to equity and inclusion.Demonstrated project management skills: exceptional attention to detail, prioritization, time management, follow-through and ability to meet deadlines; exhibit strong communication, organization and planning.Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, diplomacy, and a non-judgmental, positive, problem-solving attitude.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong computer literacy and comfort utilizing Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Power Point, and Teams).This is a hybrid role that will require attending onsite meetings, in-person fundraising events, and other agency events.Reliable, independent transportation for occasional travel to various events and sites around Seattle and South King County is required.This role will require a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
