The Assistant Vice President for Strategic Outcomes and Implementation (AVP) plays a pivotal role in the effective implementation, scalability, and sustainability of statewide strategic initiatives aligned with college goals. This position oversees change management processes for the Provost Office and supports collaboration across college leaders in areas including student systems, functional area operations, and special projects. The AVP identifies and develops valued partnerships for strategic statewide initiatives aligned with Provost area priorities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads project strategy and implementation within the Provost Office including creating project teams, motivating and influencing others to take action, convening stakeholders, managing milestones, and developing robust implementation and support strategy. Current priority projects include statewide implementation of Workday Student, the development and implementation of academic and workforce systems, and coordinating support for campuses.

Provides comprehensive communication plans designed for campus and college teams related to strategic initiatives and change management of those initiatives.

Establishes clear channels of communication to ensure stakeholders across the college are informed and engaged in initiatives related to Provost area initiatives and academic systems.

Supports the development and execution of comprehensive change management plans tailored for campus and college teams to facilitate the successful adoption of new systems and processes.

Partners with the Office of Information Technology to lead the change management strategy for implementing, achieving success, and sustaining student information systems (Workday Student).

Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance to the Workday Centers for Agility, supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with college goals in this area.

Leads continual improvement of internal processes and standard procedures in the Provost Office in areas such as procurement, sourcing, and strategic budgeting.

Works closely with Systems Office leadership, particularly Provost Office and other divisional VPs, in the development of strategic programs and processes, assuring priorities align, and meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.

Provides implementation progress reports as needed to the provost, cabinet, president, and external audiences.

Communicates and employs strategic outcome practices, innovation design, and change leadership strategies and processes effective for supporting the desired institutional culture as identified in the college’s strategic plan.

Solicits opportunities for collaboration and expansion of new strategic initiatives.

Engages campus and systems office leaders in creative problem-solving for strategic initiatives and innovation; executes effective decision-making on behalf of statewide project teams.

Assesses risk for key strategic initiatives, which may include stakeholder engagement e.g., surveys, interviews, and working meetings focused on 2-way dialogue; advises the Provost and cabinet on emerging critical issues.

Provides coaching/hands-on support in complex situations to administrators.

Builds and sustains a process-managed culture that delivers measurable value targeting efficiency and cost optimization.

Supports the Academic Affairs Systems Architect and Admissions and Advising Systems Architect in the Provost Office.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A master’s degree in education or a related field is required.

Demonstrated experience in leadership and a track record of success in innovation and improvement.

At least five years of senior-level administrative experience in education or a related field.

Must be results-oriented and possess strong collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills.

Must demonstrate the ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.

Experience with post-secondary information systems is required. Workday experience is preferred.

Experience managing multiple projects and leading others to success.

Strong collaborative leadership style and a strategic and creative approach to issues.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
