Overview

The Assistant Store Manager at our Tune & Repair location is a very well-organized individual with extensive knowledge of the products and services we offer, as well as a complete understanding of a ski and snowboard tune and repair operation. They possess excellent customer service skills, internally and externally, and are self-motivated and goal-oriented. This individual will support the Manager and lead a team of technicians, always creating a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Gain extensive knowledge of Big Sky Resort property, activities, and the surrounding area.

Acquire ski binding certifications for mounting and adjusting all brands Big Sky Resort carries; training will be provided.

Be comfortable working with hand tools and tuning machines.

Provide accurate and current information about the merchandise for all brands we carry.

Clean, organize, and stock daily to keep the tune/repair area grand opening sharp.

Work independently and multi-task, greeting all guests promptly entering the store and hosting a warm atmosphere.

Report to work on time or notify in advance if absent or late.

Use the register without error and be consistently accurate in all transactions.

Practice safety awareness at all times.

Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude at all times.

Apply the above standards to all phone calls and questions.

Manage daily operations and assigned tasks, along with coordinating employee breaks effectively and efficiently.

Participate in the training of the tune/repair techs by being a role model who administers company policies and guidelines.

Be responsible for opening and closing the store.

Training and Employee Growth

Participate in all required Big Sky Resort Retail employee training.

Be proactive in your ongoing education regarding the company, weekly reports, products, and the outdoor retail business.

Utilize the tools and training provided by Big Sky Resort and management to develop long-term customer relationships and increase sales.

Take advantage of additional in-store and outside training opportunities that are offered.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of ski and snowboard maintenance and repair to make suggestions based on guests’ wants and needs.

Effective communicator with the ability to delegate tasks and follow up.

Customer service and sales skills.

Ability to effectively work independently and with a team.

Attention to detail and accuracy in leading the tune/repair team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and managing a Big Sky Resort company email.

Self-motivated and a self-starter.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, walk up and down staircases, climb ladders, and carry boxes during 8-10 hr. shifts.

Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, and store merchandising.

Maintain a clean store by sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and other general cleaning tasks.

Ability to safely lift boxes from 30 lbs. up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
