Summary Descriptionnbkc isn’t your average bank. We take your traditional financial institution and make it better.We are currently looking for a Consumer Lender to join our Lending Team. As a Consumer Lender, you will develop and maintain relationships, while managing the consumer loan process and the consumer loan portfolio. You will also work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to obtain loan approval while maintaining operational standards.This position will work @Flex (a combination of both in the office and at home).What you’ll doManages the underwriting and processing of new consumer loans.Examines, evaluates, recommends, or authorizes approval of customer applications for consumer loans.Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other pertinent information for loan applications.Manages loan portfolios from a small to complex nature. Analyzes financial and related data to determine the current creditworthiness of loan relationships to determine loan status. Monitors loan payments and advances activities in accordance with presented loan documentation and policies.Establishes and negotiates terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method, and schedule of collateral requirements and documentation. Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to establishment policy.Prepares reports and analysis of credit situations and provides recommendations to Chief Lending Officer or Senior Credit Officer for loans that need restructuring. Develops and implements strategies to recover principal from borrowers where non-performing loans have been identified and implements action plans.Identifies, monitors, and manages risk profile of assigned lending portfolio. Presents to Executive Loan Committee updates and status on the full life cycle of loan to include loan requests, new loan terms and modifications for restructuring, watch list items, and past dues.Monitors market conditions and competitor rates.Drafts and proposes changes to credit policy to executive leadership for approval.Develops business by contacting prospects and/or current customers and to maintain and enhance existing portfolio.Regularly visits branch(es) to prospect and close loans.Follows all applicable laws and regulations.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.What you’ll bringBachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred (High school diploma or GED required).Strong communication and follow-up skills alongside the ability to complete what you commit to.Qualified candidates must have 5-7 years of consumer credit, financial analysis, or consumer lending including credit risk management experience preferred.Advanced knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies preferred.Advanced accounting and business financial knowledge with the ability to analyze repayment ability, cash flow, and commercial financial statement and tax return analysis preferred.Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other proprietary bank systems.Bonus PointsExperience working with Encompass, nCino, and/or Finastra Phoenix.Strong business communication skills and executive presence.Advanced financial analytical skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.Solid multi-tasking and project management skills.Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
