Reporting to Senior Vice President, Procurement, the Director of Global Logistics & Indirect Materials/Services will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that secure the best total value for the indirect goods and services and logistics purchased by Robertshaw worldwide. The person will establish strategic direction and ongoing management of assigned commodities for indirect goods, partnering with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Finance, and other functions to identify supply chain opportunities in these spend categories.

As an in-house expert for road, sea, ocean, warehousing and customs brokerage sourcing, the person in this role is accountable for managing inbound, outbound and international freight and distribution contracts and to create category sourcing strategies in line with end-to-end logistics partnership goals of increasing visibility, control and compliance while delivering incremental value. Additionally, the role also demands strong leadership to drive step change improvement in executing of category projects. The Director will develop and maintain a qualified supply base, keep up with market trends and manage communication with suppliers. The person will also manage tactical indirect materials/services and global logistics activities and lead a team of logistic coordinators and indirect buyers in North America.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Manage and lead a team of Procurement & Logistic professionals and provide team guidance and direction

Responsible for staffing management, including but not limited to recruiting/hiring, training and development, goal setting and performance appraisal, prioritization of team workload, disciplinary actions and monitoring performance and productivity metrics

Develop and deploy cost reduction/profit improvement plans with suppliers that directly impact yearly economic performance to achieve business goals.

Implement/Enhance logistics sourcing strategies across multiple regions for international transportation services. Active involvement in strategy development and deployment of the sourcing strategies.

Manage relationships/negotiations with all global logistics suppliers (inbound, outbound, and international), ensuring compliance with global logistical regulations.

Develop Supply Chain KPI’s and measure related performance and manage continuous improvement activities for the Freight & Logistics function.

Collaborates with other cross functional teams focused on cost control, process improvements and other Supply Chain initiatives to achieve competitive advantage and improve responsiveness.

Manage the movements of Factored Products, materials, and capital goods in/out of origin/destination countries in accordance with internal and regulatory policies and procedures.

Develop Statement of Work based on requirements from the internal requestor to obtain relevant quotes from suppliers.

Responsible for negotiating prices, terms and conditions and enforcing supplier requirements.

Work with Engineering/Manufacturing/Operations to ensure the capital expenditure projects (CapEx) are quoted within budget and awarded to approved suppliers per corporate policy for terms and conditions.

Track related to Capital Equipment, Tooling, Indirect Materials, and Services for plants until it is fully executed and regularly communicate to Purchasing Manager as well as other internal team members.

Build an advance sourcing capability in the logistics space.

Build close partnerships and alignment with multi-functional stakeholders and logistics providers in all regions.

Address Supply Chain issues like supply disruptions, quality issues, personnel issues, and expedited freight.

Communicate and report on regular basis all projects under responsibility and achieve savings, terms and other improvements, and corporate initiatives to Supply Chain leadership, and others, as required.

Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical approach.

Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in MRO, indirect materials and services.

5+ years of logistics sourcing/procurement experience across multiple countries/regions

Deep knowledge of global logistics supply base in road, rail, ocean and air

Good knowledge of finance (cost benchmark & financial audit with key supplier), legal matters (contracting) and risk management

Working knowledge of NAFTA regulations, FTZ, Drawback, Denied Party Screening, HTS/Schedule B, & ECCN. Subject matter expert or having hands on experience with European Union and Chinese import/export procedures

Solid understanding of procurement strategies and processes, such as quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others

Strong understanding of end-to-end material flow (supplier, manufacturing, distribution).

Standard business financial documents and means of measuring and tracking important supply chain KPI’s. Measuring, monitoring, and reporting on savings achieved.

Project planning, estimating benefits, ROI, and timeline. Drive accountability for successfully achieving deliverables on time and within stated budget.

Experience in managing and developing a team.

Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change

Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Highly Proficient in MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Supply Chain, Operations Management, technical field (BSME/BSEE preferred), or related discipline.

Master’s degree preferred.

APICS CPIM accreditation, or equivalent, preferred.
