A law firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled Life Sciences Patent Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a USPTO registered Patent Agent with a strong background in life sciences and a proven track record in patent prosecution. This role requires an individual with excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex patent processes in the life sciences sector.Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct patent prosecution activities including drafting and filing patent applications, responses to office actions, and appeals.Provide expert guidance on patentability, infringement, and validity issues related to life sciences technologies.Collaborate with inventors and legal teams to gather technical information and prepare comprehensive patent documents.Perform patent searches and analyze patent portfolios to support strategic decision-making.Stay current with developments in patent law and life sciences to ensure compliance and optimize patent strategies.Review and analyze scientific literature and patent filings to support patent applications.Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their inquiries and providing updates on patent application status.Prepare and file amendments and responses to patent office communications promptly.Participate in meetings with clients and other stakeholders to discuss patent strategy and prosecution progress.Requirements:USPTO registration as a Patent Agent.At least 3 years of direct patent prosecution experience.Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in life sciences or a related field, or commensurate experience.Expertise in molecular biology is highly desirable.Strong writing and technical skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare detailed patent documents.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.Proficiency in technical writing is a plus.Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-specialists.Education:Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.S., or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, or a related field.Certifications:USPTO registration as a Patent Agent.Skills:Expertise in life sciences patent prosecution.Proficiency in technical and patent writing.Strong analytical and research abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Location:Atlanta, GA
