This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, excellent writing skills, and legal credentials to effectively handle complex patent matters.Duties:Prepare and prosecute life sciences patents, including drafting patent applications and responding to office actions.Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses.Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop patent strategies and provide expert advice on patent issues.Analyze scientific literature and research to support patent claims and defense.Manage patent portfolios and maintain up-to-date records of patent applications and issued patents.Coordinate with inventors and technical experts to gather necessary information for patent filings.Stay current with developments in patent law and life sciences to provide informed legal counsel.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience in life sciences patent preparation and prosecution.An advanced degree in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemical engineering, or a related field is required (Ph.D. preferred).Must possess excellent writing skills and strong academic and work credentials.Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in the United States.Education:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in chemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemical engineering, or a related field.Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Member of the Bar in the United States.Skills:Proficient in patent preparation and prosecution.Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex scientific and legal documents.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.In-depth knowledge of intellectual property law and life sciences technologies.Job Location:Houston, TX
