JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a
Gospel Service Music Director
to lead and coordinate the music ministry for the Gospel Service at Keesler Air Force Base. The Music Director will be responsible for leading worship services, conducting rehearsals, and recruiting and training volunteers to participate in the choir and worship band.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
Direct and lead gospel-style worship music during weekly services and rehearsals.
Coordinate with chapel staff to develop a comprehensive music program.
Recruit, train, and motivate volunteers, including Airmen, students, and community members.
Develop and implement music orders for each worship service in collaboration with chaplain staff.
Provide leadership during services, including directing musicians and vocalists.
Maintain professional standards of conduct and public decorum within a pluralistic religious environment.
SCHEDULE OF WORK
One weekly rehearsal and one Sunday service, plus up to eight special services throughout the year.
Additional rehearsals and services as needed for special programs and holidays.
PLACE OF PERFORMANCEKeesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCEThe position is for the duration of the contract period, with potential renewal based on contract extension.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least two (2) years of experience directing gospel worship services in a church or chapel.
Active membership or attendance at a Christian church, with a letter of endorsement from your current pastor or chaplain.
Ability to read and direct four-part choral music and select appropriate worship music for services.
Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating with musicians and volunteers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
