This position is responsible for managing and guiding the execution of finance transformation initiatives. Primary duties include technical and operational planning and management, leading finance transformation projects, relationship building, and managing a team. This position provides input into strategic planning, provides team leadership and development, manages training objectives, and goal setting opportunities.Essential Responsibilities

Technical and Transformational Management

Collaborates with VP, Finance Transformation to define and prioritize transformation projects and initiatives in alignment with organizational vision and goals.Assesses, develops, and manages internal systems and process designs to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant operations.Leads process improvement efforts across Finance teams; enhances productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.Develops and regularly monitors and reports on performance against metrics.Prepares and edits Finance policies; ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and incorporates industry best practices.Participates in evaluation and assessment of new technologies and tools to support finance transformation.Manages implementation of financial technology, software, and automation solutions.Creates partnerships across CareOregon; focusing on value deliverance and Finance as a service.Clearly communicates value proposition of transformation activities with Finance and other stakeholders.Identifies and addresses resistance to change and provides support to staff and teams throughout transformation efforts.Leads cross-functional discussions and initiatives; develops internal and external partnerships that leverage resources and improve department responsiveness.Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements across Finance teams.Creates training plans to expand finance capabilities and fill skill gaps utilizing people, processes, and technology.Collaborates with senior leadership to define and prioritize an ongoing portfolio of transformation projects and initiatives.Relationship Management

Communicates effectively, encouraging and creating a collaborative culture inside of Finance and cross-functionally.Builds and ensures effective relationships across Finance teams and the organization for current or future integration.Partners with internal leaders and managers in identifying improvement plans and processes.Employee Supervision

Manages team and recommends team direction and goals in alignment with the organizational mission, vision, and values.Identifies work and staffing needs to meet work expectations; recruits and hires, using an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens.Plans, organizes, schedules, and monitors work; ensures employees have information and resources to meet job expectations.Leads the development, communication, and oversight of team and individual goals; ensures goals, expectations, and standards are clearly understood by staff.Trains, supervises, motivates, and coaches employees; provides support toward employee development.Incorporates guidance from CareOregon equity tools into people leadership, planning, operations, evaluation, and decision making.Ensures team adheres to department and organizational standards, policies, and procedures.Evaluates employee performance and provides regular feedback to support success; recognizes strong performance and addresses performance gaps and accountability (corrective action).Performs supervisory tasks in collaboration with Human Resources as needed.Organizational Responsibilities

Required5 years' experience in mid to high level financial planning and analysis or accounting position, experience in a financial leadership role a plus.3 years' experience using process improvement principles within a role.PreferredMinimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory position or minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory position with completion of CareOregon's Aspiring Leaders Program.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience implementing an ERP solution.Experience with Workday Core Financials.Experience with Process Improvement and Project Management related to finance systems.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

KnowledgeAdvanced understanding of finance and accounting, including internal controls.Strong understanding of financial structures, fiscal responsibility, and economic impact of business decisions.Strong understanding of process improvement principles and project management related to financial systems.Skills and AbilitiesSkilled in writing and reviewing Finance policies and procedures.Ability to balance strategic and operational thinking.Ability to plan, organize, manage, and monitor work projects.Ability to develop and lead high performing team members, including hiring, goal setting, coaching, performance management, and career development.Effective leadership skills and advanced understanding of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as work planning, training, delegating, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating staff.Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills.Ability to lead multi-stakeholder meetings and collaboration.Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff and leadership within Finance and across departments.Skilled in how to confidently diffuse difficult situations and resolve high exposure complaints.Consensus building skills; ability to negotiate favorable outcomes.Ability to respond timely to needs of business leaders.Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals and groups.Ability to identify, implement, and manage process improvements.Ability to interpret and advise on complex analysis.Advanced excel skills (e.g., complex and efficient formulas, troubleshooting, etc.).Basic computer skills, including word processing and presentations.Ability to learn, focus, understand, and evaluate information and determine appropriate actions.Ability to accept direction and feedback, as well as tolerate and manage stress.Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movement for at least 6 hours/day.Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3-6 hours/day.Working Conditions
