Our Anti Team at Amazon Games is responsible for protecting the multiplayer experience of millions of players by providing anti-cheat, anti-fraud, and anti-bot solutions. We are seeking a highly talented Senior Security Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of Amazon's current and upcoming game titles.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in anti-cheat development to identify and address threats to the competitive integrity of player experiences across a wide range of game genres. You will iteratively build technology that prevents cheats at scale, always staying a step ahead of emerging techniques. This role involves deep technical work, including developing kernel mode detection methods, reverse engineering cheats, and collaborating closely with other engineers to integrate robust anti-cheat measures into multiplayer games.

Key job responsibilities

Architect, develop, and maintain a software pipeline for detecting and preventing cheats on PC game clients, ensuring scalability and reliability.Proactively identify emerging cheats and exploits, and devise preemptive strategies to defeat them.Stay up to date on Windows internals and new features, integrating them where relevant or ensuring compliance.Reverse engineer existing cheats to understand their mechanics and identify applicable detection vectors.Advocate for best practices in Windows driver and service development, and mentor fellow engineers to raise the team's overall technical bar.Make existing systems and solutions simpler, influencing team strategy and guiding decisions that impact both short- and long-term goals.Work efficiently in an agile environment, delivering incrementally and frequently, with a focus on quick iteration and experimentation to stay ahead of threats.

About the teamThe Anti Team is a new initiative within Amazon Games dedicated to building industry-leading, multi-game anti-cheat solutions from the ground up. Leveraging Amazon's platform and compute capabilities, our goal is to create innovative software that makes cheating so challenging and frustrating that it is no longer viable. Our team operates at the intersection of engineering, data science, and game security, constantly iterating on our solutions to protect the player experience and enforce a level playing field for all players.Basic Qualifications

- Proven track record of successfully shipping products, including experience with full product life cycles from design and development to deployment and maintenance- 7+ years in C++ professional software development- 5+ years of experience with reverse engineering and development tools (IDA Pro, WinDbg, etc)- 3+ years of Windows kernel mode development experience- 3+ years contributing to the architecture, design, or analysis of anti-cheat systemsPreferred Qualifications

- Experienced in anti-cheat middleware, like EAC and BattlEye- Experienced in code obfuscation and virtualization techniques- Knowledgeable in anti-malware techniques, anti-virus or EDR- Knowledgeable in the AWS ecosystem- Knowledgeable in cheat or bot development- Knowledgeable in hardware-based security, such as TPMs- Knowledgeable in hypervisor and virtualization technology- Successful history in developing anti-cheat technologies- Passion for games and a high degree of customer obsession
