Open until filledPosition Summary:The GWDI Associate Director is responsible for assisting in the execution of the University of Dayton’s strategy for a neighborhood incubation site in West Dayton for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives. The associate director will lead the development and implementation of the GWDI’s entrepreneurial education initiatives, in addition to supporting efforts for community outreach, campus engagement, and entrepreneurial ecosystem coordination. This includes connecting businesses and entrepreneurs to resources at UD and in the broader community, as well promoting the GWDI initiative to UD students and faculty to build engagement. This position reports to the Manager of the Greater West Dayton Incubator and is a member of the L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership in UD’s School of Business Administration, which houses the GWDI.Minimum Qualifications:A bachelor's degree with at least three years of entrepreneurial experience. Experience can be a substitute for education based on the candidate's history.Familiarity with the Greater West Dayton community needs and assets, in addition to current barriers facing historically marginalized entrepreneurs.Understanding of current community and university resources available to business owners and entrepreneurs.Diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice mentality demonstrated through professional experience and/or community involvement.Strong evidence of cultural intelligence and a demonstrated ability to effectively establish cross-cultural relationships across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to race, gender, gender identity, cognitive and physical disabilities, class, religious perspectives, and sexual orientation.Operates with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable with ambiguity.Experience in organizational leadership.Excellent relationship building and cultivation skills.Experience coaching and supporting small businesses.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in related field.Three or more years with leadership experience in nonprofit, government, service sector, and/or entrepreneurial support organization.Case management or small business coaching.Experience working with disadvantaged businesses and startups.Neighborhood-based community engagement experience in West Dayton.Demonstrated experience in navigating multiple stakeholders with various interests and priorities.Special Instructions to Applicants:To apply please submit a cover letter addressing each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications that you meet.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
