Under the direction of the CEO, the Vice President of Operations for the YMCA of South Alabama provides leadership and operational expertise to achieve financial, membership, program, staff, and volunteer goals while strategically aligning and engaging key community partners. The VP of Operations is responsible for the management, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of multiple branch locations and staff while driving performance targets and creating a culture of serving members and staff. The position oversees association-wide fitness programming and leads the Bounds Family YMCA as Branch Executive Director, identifying and supporting partner organizations in our community to better serve our mission. In addition, every YMCA of South Alabama employee is responsible for upholding our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in human services, business, social services or equivalent.Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred.Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, successful membership practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management, and sound financial practices.Advanced degree in business, human services, social services or similar field preferred.Understanding of the mission and cause of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.Strong background in fitness-related fields preferred. Knowledge and management of equipment, program writing, personal training, and (current or former) group fitness certifications ideal.Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives.YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.Fundraising experience in the non-profit environment preferred.
