Position Summary

The Hardware Product Manager will develop and implement hardware and firmware product strategy initiatives at EVgo. The role will deliver value to our business and the EV driver by ensuring we maintain a best-in-class customer experience and technology roadmap. This individual contributor role is fully remote and carries influence on the company direction with visibility from the executive team. This role will distill broad strategic goals into product initiatives, and will define product requirements, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality hardware and firmware that meets customer needs and regulatory standards. The Role brings overall programs together, supporting meetings and communication forums to drive cross functional implementation. Experience in product design, code development, manufacturing, general construction, and financial analysis are a plus. Teamwork, positivity, technical acuity, and self-governed discipline will be critical for success. A firm grasp on the EV charging landscape is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain multi-year DC Fastcharger product attribute and feature roadmaps

Create ground up business models for critical new products and feature offerings, including technical success criteria and requirements.

Collaborate with UI/UX Design to define and create an intuitive user experience with a customized UI that meets both user and business requirements.

Align feature plans and roadmaps with a range of stakeholders, including Site acquisition, Site Deployment, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Senior Leadership.

Act as the primary point of contact for initiatives and features under your purview, providing timely responses to questions and maintaining open communication to ensure clarity for the working team.

Monitor product performance and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

Maintain a data driven pulse on industry trends in technology, business practices, and customer offerings, ensuring we have a complete view of the competitive benchmarking landscape

Report progress and asks quickly and concisely to the Senior Leadership team

Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent

Minimum 5 years’

experience and proven record for delivering products in a dynamic work environment

Experience in

firmware

product development, preferably in the EV charging or related industry.

Ability to work cross functionally and in a high-pressure environment

At ease with developing new hardware products

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong negotiation skills

Experience presenting to senior leadership

Exposure to manufacturing and construction environments a plus

Experience in software and hardware development a plus

Experience in the EV or renewable sector a plus

Data analytics experience a plus

Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, & Word

Travel: up to 20-30%

For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $140,000 USD to $150,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer discretionary target cash bonuses, restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off including parental leave, and a 401(k).
