Join us for a rewarding career in the aviation industry!Job DescriptionOur Wheelchair Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the entire wheelchair assistance operation within the airport. This role involves managing a team of Wheelchair Leads and Attendants, ensuring they provide top-quality service to passengers with mobility challenges. You will be responsible for training staff, implementing and monitoring service standards, and coordinating with other airport departments for smooth operations. Additionally, you will address and resolve complex issues, ensuring passenger satisfaction and compliance with airport and regulatory guidelines.WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A WHEELCHAIR SUPERVISORYou like working as a team, toward a common goalSupervise the daily operations and activities of the wheelchair service teamEnsure efficient allocation and scheduling of wheelchair attendants across various airport terminalsMonitor adherence to safety protocols and guidelines in wheelchair handling and passenger assistanceTrain and mentor wheelchair attendants on best practices and customer service excellenceManage and resolve any operational challenges or passenger complaints related to wheelchair servicesYou have a great attention to detailYou enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasksLike to build long term relationships with your customersPhysical activity may include:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 70 pounds or more and able to push a wheelchair with an adult in itBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environmentClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)QualificationsMinimum age of 18 years oldMinimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within customer service or airport operationsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsProven ability to manage teams effectively and handle challenging situationsComfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tabletsAbility to pass a drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
