POSITION SUMMARY:The Business Planning and Analysis team is responsible for capturing, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting key financial data in support of the Clean Products Value Chain (CPVC). This position plays a prominent role in coordinating the development and presentation of MPC’s Direct Dealer financial narratives that explain how the Clean Products side of the business creates value. Primary responsibilities center around representing BP&A in driving R&M financial reporting solutions along with forecasting and analytical responsibilities for MPC’s Direct Dealer business. These responsibilities are carried out in support of annual Business Plan, monthly S&D forecasting, quarterly reporting, and other reporting initiatives. The Sr/Lead BP&A Analyst will regularly interface with CPVC managers, and staff, as well as personnel in the BP&A / Controllers organizations. This position will report to a BP&A Manager and be based in San Antonio, TX.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as primary point of contact for analysis of financial performance related to MPC’s Direct Dealer Business

Lead monthly and quarterly commercial operation and financial performance reporting, providing comprehensive insights into trends, variances, and discrepancies.

Coordinate and lead monthly forecast review meetings with CP leadership team, including submission to Corporate BP&A with an insightful business narrative behind drivers of profitability

Lead weekly Direct Dealer forecast meeting with commercial business partners

Compile and present monthly consolidated Direct Dealer reporting package for CPVC senior leadership, complete with meaningful variance analysis of actual to forecast results

Compile quarterly performance packet of financial information to CPVC leadership to highlight insightful commentary on the operational and commercial drivers underpinning financial performance

Consistently identifies opportunities for improvement and seeks out best practices.

Constantly seeks to leverage automation to eliminate non-value-add manual processes.

Provide critical input into all initiatives aimed at elevating visibility and usefulness of our financial data

Support ad-hoc financial and operational analyses

Provide business continuity support for the BP&A team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree is required. Majors in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline preferred

MBA preferred

Minimum of 6-years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or related field is required

Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel is preferred

Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) or relational databases (SQL, Access, etc.) preferred

Proficient with creating and presenting to senior leaders is preferred
