Job Summary:BDO is seeking a Director to join BDO's thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice as a data protection and privacy subject matter expert and engagement leader. BDO's PDP practice provides global solutions for our clients to address their data protection and privacy needs. This is an exciting position for a professional that would like to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals.The PDP Director is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships, developing new relationships to drive new opportunities for the firm, delivering quality work product for clients, managing project teams and ensuring that BDO projects are on-time and on-budget.Job Duties:Develops and delivers global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/boardBuilds cross-culture functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programsDevelops and delivers privacy operations program plans for global corporate clientsManages BDO USA team members and collaborates with BDO Member Firms and offshore team membersProvides detailed level information to clients around CCPA, CPRA, PIPL, GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA among other domestic and global privacy lawsGuides and advises team members around project budget and schedulingEstablishes new relationships to drive new opportunities to BDOComplies with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks to ensure consistency across service deliveryManages and maintains relationships with client professionals, and introduces other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationshipsManages the day-to-day project requirements, as well as the on-site and/or remote teamEnsures clients receive timely, actionable and thoughtful responses to questions, data subject requests, or supervisory authority inquiriesBuilds relationships with other BDO professionals, cross-sells into different industries and services, and participates in BDO and industry events where subject matter expertise is requestedEnsures corporate clients are provided quality level servicesUpdates appropriate customer relationship management to ensure appropriate pipeline reportingReviews client executive reports, and provides feedback to team membersDevelops proposals, responds to RFP/RFI's and ensures Master Service Agreements and engagement letters are managed according to BDO standardsUtilizes knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans, establish reporting and metrics, and provide client with regular updatesParticipates in and conducts business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance interviews and meetings, as neededProofreads and edits executive reports, prior to presenting to prospects and existing clientsManages BDO client and BDO Partner expectations at all levelsMentors team members to ensure quality of work product is consistent throughout client engagements, and BDO standards are applied for every engagementManages multiple large, complex and potentially long-term engagements and clientsManages client expectations at all levels of the organization, including supporting in-person presentations to senior level executivesSupport the Data Protection Officer for clients, as requiredDevelops and manages project budgets, reviews invoices for consistency, and ensures that invoices are delivered in a timely mannerActs as a leader, and projects a professional, positive attitude toward client and firm personnelManages a team of professionals on a project or regional basisOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:Ensures Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates are trained on all relevant software, practice tools, and processesEvaluates the performance of Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates, and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback, and completes performance evaluations for Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates in accordance with Firm guidanceActs as mentor to Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates, as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree, requiredMaster's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA, preferredExperience:Ten (10) or more years of consulting experience, requiredThree (3) or more years of data protection or privacy experience, requiredExperience working with Fortune 500 clients, preferredFive (5) or more years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects, requiredLicense(s)/Certification(s):One (1) or more of the following privacy certifications, required:CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE or other privacy certificationsOneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions, preferredSoftware:OneTrust, BigID, and other privacy and GRC softwareStrong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, requiredProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Visio, required, including Office 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint, preferredKnowledge of database systems, software development lifecycle, and technology company operations, preferredLanguage(s):Multilingual capabilities (read, speak, and/or write), preferredOther Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Executive presence, with the ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagementsAbility to up-sell after the first engagementExcellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skillsStrong analytical and advanced research skills related to industry trends, market competition and
