Senior Business Intelligence System Analyst

Overview To design, support, and provide strategic planning of the Business Intelligence solution across the enterprise. Manages deployment, maintenance, and support of Business Intelligence tools and reports. Analyzes, creates, documents, tests, maintains, troubleshoots, and promotes the Business Intelligence environment. Responsibilities Designs Business Intelligence lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, support, end-user training, and documentation. Creates Semantic Layer for Business Intelligence Reporting. Creates and tests new Business Intelligence processes to ensure that all changes are effective and functional. Works with Data Architect to tune and modify back-end Business Intelligence environment. Creates and maintains data lineage and data dictionary. Provides assistance in data modeling and architecture for the EDW using the Kimball architecture modeling. Analyzes data issues through SQL Server and Oracle. Participates in the selection and promotion of Business Intelligence tools. Participates in enterprise Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence strategy. Promotes new ways of doing analysis and reporting within the company. Assists end-users with reporting tools. Coordinates and/or attends all assigned project related meetings. Serves as liaison with IT, end-users, vendors, and contractors. Ensures business users have the correct understanding of the data, its structure, and the analytic tools to meet their needs. Provides technical and problem resolution support to the user community. Works with Report Writer to ensure standards are being met. Participates in development of Data Definitions and standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field; minimum four (4) years systems analysis experience with experience in Business Intelligence systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with healthcare data is preferred. Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications Knowledge of databases (SQL Server, BusinessObjects, Access, SSIS, normalization, queries, views). Some knowledge of Oracle and Oracle programming methodologies. Knowledge of data warehousing, data marts, OLAP, ROLAP, MOLAP, etc. Ability to move data between systems as needed, effortlessly. High standards for data presentation. Significant knowledge of PCs, Windows, and related applications. Understanding of systems and related systems interfaces and how changes impact various systems. Valid California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business. Performance Based Competencies Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to assist others in defining their needs in a collaborative, tactful manner. Demonstrated aptitude for acquiring new technical skills in data reporting. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines. Work Environment And Physical Demands More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, and/or lift objects of varying sizes, weighing up to 25 lbs.
