Key ResponsibilitiesConsult with executive leadership to determine and develop the manufacturing operations strategic plan, policies, and procedures.Define specific strategic objectives for measured key performance indicators in operations at a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual level.Implement processes, capabilities, systems, and initiatives that propel a continuous improvement culture through the use of Systems.Prepare and oversee the budget and expense management for operations and sub-functions.Oversee all facets of supply chain and manufacturing, ensuring that they are carried out in a manner consistent with the organizational goals and objectives, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.Leadership and People DevelopmentDevelop overall knowledge and understanding of supply chain and operational strategies in order to improve performance of all functions, leveraging Systems.Support the supply chain and operations leadership team with administrative activities specific to Safety, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities Management.Assist in directing all functions related to the purchase of equipment, supplies, and services for each department for the purpose of ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and general accounting procedures.Identify, recommend, and implement goals and objectives consistent with company's mission, vision, and values.Provide leadership, motivation, and direction leveraging the seven core principles of the Leadership Model.Provide regular communication and feedback to the operations team and all managers.Develop a team-oriented manufacturing environment, dedicated and committed to quality and customer satisfaction.Optimize resource allocation and operations planning to optimally use human and material resources.Recruit, interview, hire, and train operations management team members.Safety, Plant Production, Environmental Services, Maintenance and Engineering KPI'sEnsure safety procedures, standard operating procedures, GMP's, and standard work are adhered to daily.Assist in establishing productivity measures for each process area and help develop and review production variance reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to ensure optimized costs and minimized operational delays.Reinforce that standards for product quality, equipment function, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.Process and Product ImprovementSupport operations to introduce process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and continually review all aspects of operations in an effort to control and reduce costs.Analyze feasibility of new products and product improvements for serial production.Keep current on the latest automation equipment available for the industry.Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.Education, Qualifications, and ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management and/or Science Degree in related discipline.Minimum of 15 years lean manufacturing and transformation experience, with tangible results in operational performance metrics and people development (Lean Certification a plus).Minimum of 15 years experience in leading complex processes, specifically in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, product development, or related enterprise functions.Process Engineering experience in a GMP production or pharmaceutical environment.Extensive continuous improvement knowledge, with strong proficiency in lean tools/techniques (e.g. Value Stream Analysis, TPM, Strategy Development/Deployment).Excellent leadership skills, particularly with influencing, coaching, and teaching capabilities.Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management, hourly associates, and external partners.Ability to assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.Proven track record functioning as a strategic leader and implementor of plans.In-depth understanding of business processes and related implementation.Solid knowledge of performance reporting and KPI management.Strategic acumen with expertise and capacity to challenge current thinking.Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.Broad experience in manufacturing optimization and driving increased velocity and flow across manufacturing and business processes.Capable of operating independently and as part of a team.Dedicated, accountable, and results-oriented, with a sense of urgency.Knowledgeable in personal computer applications required (Excel, Word, Visio, and PP).
