As part of a Congregation team at The Austin Stone Community Church, the Groups Director (GD) will be responsible for equipping, caring for, and mobilizing groups and missional communities toward engaging the lost in Austin with the Kingdom of God. The GD will report to the Spiritual Formation Director / Pastor.Responsibilities

Formulate and implement a robust Groups strategy for launching and multiplying new groups of believers on mission in Austin.Develop and execute strategy for the ongoing development, equipping, resourcing, and care of group leaders.Collaborate with the Connections Director to plan and execute environments for group growth.Provide general shepherding care to Partners and regular attenders, connecting elders or deacons to any pastoral needs.Lead a team of deacons to uniquely invest, support, and network the participants, leaders, and coaches of the congregation group network.Steward the Spiritual Formation budget.Maintain regular database, reporting, and assessment structures for clear oversight of the group network.Provide supervision, coaching, and ongoing development to groups staff.Leverage short-term trips and local missions efforts in partnership with the global and local missions teams for kingdom impact and leadership development.Effectively redeploy the participants of the Discipleship Making Intensive, Goer Missional Communities, and returning goers into the life of the Congregation.Serve as a resource to mobilize leaders and communities to volunteer with Sunday ministries as strategic needs arise.Attend, serve, and lead at all required events and activities for The Austin Stone, including all Sunday services, staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, and staff development days.Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred.3 years of experience in a vocational ministry role or equivalent experience.Foundational understanding of Systematic and Biblical theology.Pastoral effectiveness:

Desire and ability to understand and meet people where they are emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Strong grasp and alignment with The Austin Stone’s convictions in pastoral applied theology.Administration:

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and implement ministry programming. Integrate multiple perspectives and synthesize them into a cohesive plan. Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, with dependability and excellence. Understanding of The Austin Stone’s ministry strategy and competency in application of strategies in equipping and mobilization. Able to successfully develop new and better ways to work and promote a continuous improvement mentality.Communication:

Demonstrated capacity to inspire, instruct, and encourage through effective communication in various settings. Has clarity of speech and proper use of grammar. Able to negotiate and make effective presentations to diverse groups.Collaborative Leadership:

Strong complementary leadership skills and capacity to lead in concert with other leaders. Demonstrated ability to network and connect with leaders toward Kingdom outcomes. Collaborate across the organization and with various ministry partners. Cultivate purpose-driven, relational networks.Leadership Development:

Ability to lead, recruit, resource, and mobilize volunteer teams to scale. Ability to recruit, manage, and lead resident/intern teams. Proven capacity to multiply leaders (staff, deacons, volunteers, etc.) who hold and can communicate the church's values.Physical Demands and Work Environment
