Our connection to the larger metropolitan area is essential to our success and provides a wealth of diverse cultural and recreational opportunities.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Support all aspects of the hotel operations including housekeeping/laundry, front office, vendor/supplies, and night audit to ensure guest satisfaction is met.Supervise Front Desk & Housekeeping Assistants, Front Desk/Night Clerks and student interns while assisting the Hotel Manager in the day-to-day hotel operation.Perform daily laundry, cleaning, and dishwashing for hotel rooms and public areas in the Culinary and Hospitality Center (CHC) hotel.Assist the Hotel Manager in the daily administration and coordination of the housekeeping and front desk functions necessary for Inn at Water's Edge.Act as manager on duty and provide round-the-clock staff support via phone, email, or in-person when Hotel Manager is absent and work flexible shifts including weekends and/or overnight according to guest volume needs.Clean guest rooms and all areas assigned in the CHC as well as oversee cleanliness of all guest rooms, public areas, storage areas, closets, and laundry room.Monitor, order, and oversee storage of cleaning and laundry supplies and chemicals.Assist the Hotel Manager in the communication with vendors regarding quotes and contract renewals.Maintain inventory counts and monitor quality/wear and tear of linens and laundry of linens.Issue daily work assignments to Front Desk & Housekeeping Assistants, Front Desk/Night Clerks, and interns for housekeeping and/or front office functions.Provide employee scheduling recommendations to the Hotel Manager based on guest volume.Complete all daily opening and closing housekeeping reports.Assist in hiring process, training, and coaching of Front Desk & Housekeeping Assistants, Front Desk/Night Clerks, and student interns in all front office and housekeeping functions and develop and supervise the training program for interns.Assist in handling of lost and found.Report all repair issues to the Hotel Manager and assist in coordination of repairs.Assist the Hotel Manager in hotel budget development and management.Resolve all hotel guest problems and maintain highest level of customer service.Work directly with faculty to coordinate and oversee student learning experience in the hotel.Assist with coverage at the front desk, as needed, to check guests in/out and handle additional requests.Handle cash deposits and process credit card payments.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education

High School diploma or equivalent required.2 or more years of college coursework, equivalent experience, or in-industry experience required.

Experience

2-3 years of hotel, food service, housekeeping, or similar experience required.Demonstrated ability to work with people and give/take directions required.Supervisory experience preferred.Opera PMS preferred.

Working Conditions:Familiarity with safety and sanitation procedures.Familiarity with proper care of laundry equipment.Ability to work with cleaning products.Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to work on a computer system for hotel property management and point of sale systems.This position requires a background check and drug screen.Hiring Range:Classified 10 Hourly/19.50 - 22.50Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
