Essential Duties:
Develops, implements, manages and integrates a QMS for all manufacturing facilities
Serves as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement
Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
Supports product engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer
Leads the implementation and documentation of procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
Leads root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements
Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
Leads the development of process certification standards and assist in process certification
Directs the activities for maintaining for each manufacturing facility's ISO certification
Interfaces with Government Quality Inspectors to ensure government quality requirements are achieved
Interacts with customers to ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans, identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel
Champion Quality support to New Product Development activities in an integrated product team environment including process control for final product launch activities
Directs internal and external quality audits
Requirements/
Education/Experience/ Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Technical or Manufacturing Degree or related field preferred
Minimum 7 years related quality management experience required; minimum of 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience
Experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred
Experience in federal government contracting and subcontracting desirable
Working knowledge of engineering principles and ability to apply them in inspection activities
Experience with developing/documenting procedures for ISO compliance program
Experience in internal/external audit programs and procedures
Experience with ERP systems required, SAP operating system preferred
Up to 30% travel required to HDT production facilities and vendors
