An exciting opportunity exists for a recognized Sales Leader to join CDM Smith’s established, growing Transportation organization within our West Region.

We would like to fill this position in the west regional states of:

CA, OR, WA, ID, NV, AZ, UT, WY, MT, CO, NM, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, TX.

The Sales Leader is a key CDM Smith position, requiring a highly motivated professional with proven capabilities to innovate while advancing the firm’s market position and growing client business. The successful candidate will lead, manage, and develop CDM Smith's sales for our transportation business and help sustain and grow revenue within our primary business sectors, helping to achieve top line growth for the west, a strong established region in our transportation practice and well positioned to take advantage of market growth. In this role, you will be responsible for sales growth by guiding and mentoring a team of Client Service Leaders to strengthen our client relationships and grow sales. Working closely with the North American Unit Transportation Director and other Senior Leaders, you will drive the regional strategic sales strategy and formulate a clear vision and direction for your geography. As Sales Leader, your team will deliver over $100 million in annual sales volume in transportation professional services in the region.

Responsibilities include:

Leading, managing, training, and developing the sales team to meet or exceed annual goals.

Aligning the teams to achieve future strategic growth objectives.

Working with project delivery leaders and Technical Services Unit leaders to synchronize sales and delivery activities.

Building and sustaining high-level relationships with key clients and continuously improving client service and satisfaction.

Taking initiative to create a learning organization by teaching, coaching, and capitalizing on "lessons learned".

Providing input and leadership during the Transportation Group’s annual sales, revenue, utilization, and profitability business plan development session.

Driving staff retention, hiring, and professional growth by helping to increase staff engagement and recruiting new professionals and strategic staff to position CDM Smith for sustained growth into the future.

Maintaining positive financial posture for the West Transportation Region.

Traveling within the U.S. to prospective transportation clients in southwest, mountain, & pacific regions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

15 years of related experience.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience successfully growing a transportation sales and/or delivery team.

Well established client relationships in the transportation sector within the southwest, mountain, & pacific regions.

Previous experience developing market strategy, preposition, and being part of key pursuits and mega pursuit teams.

Previous experience managing a transportation sales team.
