The Procurement Lead will have an advanced understanding of all activities in the project procurement life cycle, and lead efforts in procurement strategy development, bid analysis, buy-out, contracting, and expediting; as well as take ownership of procurement deliverables in project execution. The Procurement Lead is responsible to train and mentor more junior team members, project teams, and other internal CRB customers, on procurement best practices and tools.This position will lead efforts to mitigate risk and provide value-driven solutions in alignment with the project’s conditions of satisfaction. The resulting work product will aide our clients’ decision-making during the procurement process and support CRB teams in securing and delivering key trade labor and equipment.The Procurement lead is expected to work autonomously with minimal supervision, and their experience and knowledge should provide an immediate impact to the organization.ResponsibilitiesDevelop relationships with key internal customers, suppliers, and contractorsAbility to identify risk throughout the supply chain and implement risk mitigation strategiesCollaborate within a cross-functional & team-oriented environmentCollaborate with remote teams and a hybrid working environmentMust excel at working to established project deliverable dates and possess outstanding attention to detail with a high level of accuracyExecute and mentor team members in execution of activities in the project procurement life cycle, including procurement strategy development, supplier selection, bid analysis, buy-out, contracting, and expeditingExecute project procurement deliverables for client projects, supporting both supplier equipment and trades-focused deliverables, as well as internal business pursuitsCommunicate regularly and as needed with senior leadershipCreate best practices in project execution using CRB processes and toolsExecutes projects in compliance with company policies and procedures.Ensure adherence to sourcing strategy execution, negotiations, contract implementation and monitor performance against established targets.Manages supplier relationships and contract negotiations.Champions cost savingsCoordinates material movement throughout project cycleActively pursue knowledge of local and global market conditions to contribute to regional projects and business intelligenceConsult with internal resources concerning tax, insurance, liability, and contractual issuesReview compliance items for accuracy and completionMaintain historical equipment procurement informationProvide timely, accurate and effective identification of problems and proactively develop strategies and tactics to mitigate impacts to projects and the business, including thorough status reporting and documentation of all corrective action plansDrives continuous improvement within Sourcing and Procurement processesQualifications
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction or Engineering preferred, or relevant experiencePreferred 8+ years of experience in procurement of capital equipment and/or subcontracting services, preferably in an EPCM environmentExperience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology industriesExtensive experience leading sourcing initiatives in a variety of ways (e.g., rapid sourcing, targeted negotiations, complex category strategies, supplier, and contractor relationship management,)Managed complex equipment contracts over $4MM and has executed/overseen a portfolio of contracts over $35MM.Additional QualificationsAdvanced proficiency in procurement processes and principlesExperience in EPCM project deliveryExperience with online bidding systems and software is preferred, PMWeb and Building Connected a plus.Skilled negotiator experienced with developing and executing complex negotiation strategies.Technically skilled in understanding and negotiation of contractual documentsExperienced in performing analysis of market and delivery condition to determine present and future material and subcontract availabilityProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, excel and data entry.Ability to read and understand technical documents, including scope, specs, schedules, project plansAbility to train and develop procurement policies and practices with more junior team members, as well as internal customersExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, influence, resolve conflict and drive decisions among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines.Possess a passion for quality, compliance and weighing riskExcellent written, listening and communication skillsAdditional Information
