The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory matters, including compliance and enforcement, with a strong focus on the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), United States export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). A general knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred. The candidate must be admitted and actively barred in North Carolina.Duties and Responsibilities:Advise clients on CFIUS regulations and compliance, including foreign investment reviews and mitigation measures.Provide legal counsel on U.S. export controls, including ITAR, EAR (Export Administration Regulations), and OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) regulations.Assist clients with compliance programs, audits, and investigations related to international trade and export controls.Represent clients in negotiations and enforcement actions with federal agencies.Draft and review legal documents, including compliance policies, contracts, and reports related to international trade and export controls.Conduct legal research and analysis to support regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making.Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations related to international trade and export controls.Collaborate with other legal professionals and departments within the firm to address complex legal issues and provide comprehensive client support.Participate in client meetings, presentations, and training sessions to enhance understanding of compliance requirements and best practices.Requirements:2-4 years of relevant experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.Proven experience with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR.General knowledge of DPAS is preferred.Must be admitted and actively barred in North Carolina.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in North Carolina (must be current and in good standing).Skills:Expertise in international trade regulations and export controls.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Strong drafting and negotiation skills.Ability to handle complex regulatory compliance and enforcement issues.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment and with clients.Location:Charlotte, NC
