This role involves managing complex international trade regulatory and compliance matters, with a particular focus on the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), U.S. export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas, possess relevant certifications, and be admitted to practice law in California.Duties and Responsibilities:Advise clients on compliance with CFIUS regulations and procedures.Provide legal guidance on U.S. export controls, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and ITAR.Assist clients in navigating the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS).Represent clients in negotiations, regulatory filings, and enforcement matters related to international trade and export controls.Draft and review legal documents, including compliance policies and agreements.Conduct legal research and analysis on international trade laws and regulations.Collaborate with other attorneys and departments to develop and implement effective compliance strategies.Stay current with developments in international trade and export control laws and regulations.Requirements:2-4 years of experience handling international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.Demonstrated experience with CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and ITAR.General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.Must be admitted and actively barred to practice law in California.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admitted to practice law in California.Skills:In-depth knowledge of CFIUS and international trade regulations.Proficiency in interpreting and applying ITAR and EAR.Ability to provide strategic legal advice on compliance and enforcement issues.Strong research and analytical skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
