Job Summary:

PBS Wisconsin seeks a collaborative, enthusiastic Legacy Giving Director to join an established and growing Legacy Giving team. The person in this role engages with PBS Wisconsin's dedicated viewers and supporters statewide, provides connectivity to the work of the station and information on long-term support via planned gift vehicles, and secures planned gift commitments. Strong interpersonal and active listening skills, time and portfolio management, record keeping, and thoughtful stewardship are essential to this role.Prior experience in planned and major giving, high touch client relations, or comparable positions is required, along with attention to detail, self-directed time management, donor centrism, and adherence to the fundraising code of ethics. Prior firsthand experience in planned giving and/or public media are additional preferred qualities. The person in this position reports to the Managing Director of Legacy Giving and collaborates with the Legacy Giving team of five, as well as the Major Giving team, and, to varying degrees, the entire Development Department and other colleagues.Responsibilities:

Identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects at major, principal, and/or planned gift levels, develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaboratively with other Advancement staff to meet predefined gift contribution goals.50% Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of gifts to reach program funding goals.15% Develops and delivers targeted fundraising and communication programs and materials specific to gift contributions in alignment with strategic initiatives.10% Develops and updates prospect portfolios, evaluates existing strategy and recommends improvements to leadership.5% Serves as a unit liaison to internal and external constituencies, provides information and represents the interests of the institution.10% May serve as project manager for special projects fundraising, including serving as liaison for cross-functional project teams and planning donor-related events.10% Maintains accurate, timely, and thorough donor portfolio records and contact reports to facilitate programmatic performance evaluation and preserve institutional memory.Education:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and areas of development such as major, planned, and individual giving, or comparable experience in high touch client relations roles.- Demonstrated experience cultivating relationships and making solicitations that have resulted in commitments.- Demonstrated success achieving fundraising, client service, or sales goals.- Understanding of planned giving process, principles, methods and practices including prospect research, cultivation, and stewardship.- High degree of skill with technology including data tracking, spreadsheet software, and donor relationship management databases.- Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively and persuasively and represent PBS Wisconsin with key constituents.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience and demonstrated success managing projects, timelines, and revenue goals.- Experience working with board members or community volunteer fundraisers.- Experience or knowledge of public media fundraising.- Experience or advanced knowledge of charitable planned giving vehicles, estate or financial planning, and legal processes.Work Type:
