Under the general supervision of the category lead, this position manages the development, execution, and maintenance of all activities within the assigned product category. The position will require insight, data and market driven analysis to develop products, strategies, tactics and initiatives to strategically grow the category. Serves as a key interface with major functional areas, including R&D, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing. This role constantly seeks knowledge about retail, consumers, competitors, and products, and liaises with the Analytics team to understand and communicate market dynamics and recommendations.

Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities

Manages the development, planning, execution and tracking of product creation activities for category.Collaborates with internal teams on product design, development and creation.Serves as a market/segment expert: understand the market dynamics for the segment to include retail, consumer, competitor, and product innovation to make recommendations.Participates in cross-functional team to determine pricing and positioning of products through the product lifecycle to maximize company financial targets and consumer appeal.Collaborate with Analytics team using expertise in market dynamics, pricing, retail timing, and consumer insights to create products that meet and exceed market demand.Partner with Brand Marketing to bring product stories, insights and concepts to life in consumer facing communication (includes naming and positioning of new products).Energy Provider – Inspire and excite teammates while collaborating to develop product stories and launch strategies that will drive go-to-market success.Ensures global alignment of the overall category strategy, product positioning, pricing and messaging.Collaborate with Global Business Strategy and Brand Marketing to create 3 Year strategic plans that address product strategy, launch timings, SKU management, pricing, etc. for club categories to meet short- and long-term financial goals.Responsible for management of golf club PDDs (Product Definition Documents) within the Product Creation Function. Owns product information including catalog and website specification sheets.Manages and directs processes related to the product sample process from development through initial launch activities.Translate technical product features and benefits into consumer facing benefits.Administer, track, and analyze sales, SKUs and market data for stock and custom clubs.Generates content and presents to various groups for training in support of product launch and sales activities.Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge And Skills Requirements

Excellent organization skills and exceptional attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), proficiency with Keynote is a plus.Excellent project management skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, act with urgency and operate within deadlines.Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, in writing and verbally with all levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to plan, evaluate, and effectively present ideas and concepts.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence cross functionally.Demonstrated facility for strategic thinking.Strong analytical skills.Knowledge of relevant technology, terminology and product design.

Education, Training, Professional Certification And Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business preferred.5-7 years of related experience in product line management.3 years of golf industry experience preferred.Strong knowledge of the game of golf, including golf club technology, benefits, and market landscape required; single-digit golf handicap preferred.Custom fitting and club building experience preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Normal office conditions, heavy phone and computer use.Occasional domestic and international travel required (10-15%).Must be able to work extended hours, to liaise with global regions and vendor suppliers.Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.

TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
