Job Description:
The Director of Compliance will manage and maintain compliance priorities for all state assets which include operational and regulatory deadlines. We are seeking a candidate with familiarity with the cannabis sector or experience within a heavily regulated environment. Furthermore, our ideal candidate will be inspired by a fast-paced culture and have a high level of comfort in ownership of state Compliance. This position directly reports to the VP of Compliance.Responsibilities:
Reviews and interprets state regulations, including those related to employment, occupational safety, and cannabis.Serves as subject matter expert on current and prospective state cannabis regulations and provides compliance advice to internal team.Helps to support the application submission process for registration renewals to maintain state licensures.Works cross-functionally with internal teams including Operational team and Real Estate and Facilities team to draft variance requests and operational deadline extension requests.Prepares and submits documentation required for regulatory inspections and coordinates the inspection process for internal departments and state regulators.Works cross-functionally with marketing to review collateral to ensure compliance with state regulations.Investigates and resolves compliance concerns, issues, or violations.Keeps informed of emerging cannabis regulatory issues, trends, and other developments.Travels periodically among the Company’s multi-state cultivation and dispensary operations.Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in Google Suite or similar software.Three years of related experience.Must be 21 years of age or older.Must be able to pass a background check.Ability to work independently & exercise good judgment and discretion.High level of focus & accuracy.Trustworthy, reliable & assertive.Strong sense of urgency.Punctual.Requirements:
A general understanding of Metrc is preferred.Extensive knowledge of Cannabis regulations and policies.Previous inventory experience is required.Excellent customer service skills are required.Advanced math skills.High School or General Education Diploma (GED).
