Job DescriptionThe Director of Compliance will manage and maintain compliance priorities for all state assets which include operational and regulatory deadlines. We are seeking a candidate with familiarity with the cannabis sector or experience within a heavily regulated environment. Furthermore, our ideal candidate will be inspired by a fast-paced culture and have a high level of comfort in ownership of state Compliance. This position directly reports to the VP of Compliance.
Job Functions
Reviews and interprets state regulations, including those related to employment, occupational safety, and cannabisServes as subject matter expert on current and prospective state cannabis regulations and provides compliance advice to internal teamHelps to support the application submission process for registration renewals to maintain state licensuresWorks cross functionally with internal teams including Operational team and Real Estate and Facilities team to draft variance requests and operational deadline extension requestsPrepares and submits documentation required for regulatory inspections and coordinates the inspection process for internal departments and state regulatorsWorks cross-functionally with marketing to review collateral to ensure compliance with state regulationsInvestigates and resolves compliance concerns, issues, or violationsKeeps informed of emerging cannabis regulatory issues, trends, and other developmentsTravels periodically among the Company's multi-state cultivation and dispensary operationsSkills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in Google Suite or similar softwareThree years of related experienceMust be 21 years of age or olderMust be able to pass a background checkAbility to work independently & exercise good judgment and discretionHigh level of focus & accuracyTrustworthy, reliable & assertiveStrong sense of urgencyPunctualRequirements
A general understanding of Metrc is preferredExtensive knowledge of Cannabis regulations and policiesPrevious inventory experience is requiredExcellent customer service skills are requiredAdvanced math skillsHigh School or General Education Diploma (GED)
